Moodle Hosting

Our professional-grade Moodle hosting is based in purpose-built data-centres, with multiple redundant network links, emergency power supplies, 24-hour security and monitoring

We use a number of high-specification resilient servers that are especially configured and tuned for use with Moodle

We don't do "Cheap" hosting. It is of course very possible to purchase some low cost web space and run a small moodle on it, but that is not the market that we are in. Many low cost web hosting companies run several hundred sites on each server. We host between eight and thirty moodle sites per server - less if they are large installations, and we manage the server platforms and support the Moodle installations. We can offer high specification virtual private servers for use by a single moodle where high capacity and reliability are required, and for the ultimate in capacity and performance we can offer complete hardware dedicated servers. We supply hosting specifically optimised for Moodle's web and database requirements, and each hosting plan includes basic moodle support for the site administrator as standard.

Please note that user numbers quoted are *In Total* and do not reflect the number of simultaneous users that your site will be able to handle - simultaneous user numbers are always lower (Around 5% to 10% of total is what we usually see as normal usage levels)

We now offer six levels of moodle hosting, as follows:

Level 0.25 Hosting - shared server
This basic Moodle hosting account is designed for a single classroom or small business, or as a pilot scheme prior to rolling out a larger production system. You can have a unique domain name (.com, .org, .co.uk, .org.uk) supplied as part of the hosting for a small additional charge (varies depending on domain chosen, but is usually between £7 and £24 for a two-year registration) or you can use an existing domain or sub-domain (as long as you have control over your own DNS Zone file). Level 0.25 hosting will easily support 100 learners in total* (up to 10 concurrently) and about five to ten courses (depending on content), making it an ideal choice for an organisation that will change content and users as needed.

Level I Hosting - shared server
For schools and organisations that will support up to 1000* learners in total (up to 100 concurrently) and about 50 - 75 courses (depending on content) annually. Includes unique domain name (e.g. http://yoursite.com) and the following features:

• 5GB storage
• 30GB monthly bandwidth
• FTP access
• Basic Moodle support for site administrator via our online support-desk
• Nightly system backups
• Customised Moodle theme, including your logo (Based on standard themes, with customised colour scheme if required) - or we can put you in touch with our themes designer for a completely new custom theme at additional cost.
• Other PHP scripts can optionally be installed - as long as they meet our security requirements, but are not usually supported by us. There may be an additional setup fee for these.

Level II Hosting - shared server
For organisations that will support up to 2000* learners in total (Up to 100 concurrently) and about 100 courses (depending on content) annually. Includes unique domain name (e.g. http://yoursite.com) and the following features:

• 15GB storage
• 50GB monthly bandwidth
• FTP access
• Control panel access for database and email (PHPMyAdmin & ISPConfig)
• Nightly system backups
• Basic Moodle support for site administrator via our online support-desk
• Customised Moodle theme, including your logo (Based on standard themes, with customised colour scheme if required) - or we can put you in touch with our themes designer for a completely new custom theme at additional cost.
• Other PHP scripts can optionally be installed - as long as they meet our security requirements, but are not usually supported by us. There may be an additional setup fee for these.

Level III *UPDATED* - High-Specification VPS - not shared
For Colleges, University departments and other large users. These servers can support 3500 to 5000* learners in total (between 350 and 500 concurrently) and well over 100 courses annually.
